Charles and Ray Eames were incredibly influential in the world of furniture, architecture, film and design in general. Their Los Angeles home was a Case Study House, a postwar program that commissioned renowned architects to build modern homes that were affordable to the average American and could be easily replicated. The Eameses house, the 8th in the Case Study program, was designed by Charles and Ray Eames along with Eero Saarinen. It's now a historic landmark and you can schedule visits. Do it!
The Eameses have had big impact on my work, not to mention most of my designing takes place while sitting on one of their chairs from the 50's. It was a huge pleasure to be able to see the house in person and take some photos.
